Asian culture has an obsession with doll like characteristics. The latest internet phenomena to go viral, is 3 month long blogger, Dakota Koti. Almost a million upload views and those looks! Why doesn’t she have an agency yet? was the first thought to cross my mind when stumbling onto her page.

The image aspired to, au naturel in one: perfect pout, big bobble eyes, porcelain skin, lolita complex, and milk tea colored hair. She’s the next personality star to be swept East, if she plays her cards right. Once a model agency picks her up- it better be one with multiple agents. I want her in London and Tokyo.

With the exposure of the web, and a market that looks to the youth, many entrepreneurs under twenty have taken full advantage. From Tavi to Bryan Boy, and various others, they have come to terms of asserting themselves via the internet. As hardly acquaintances, I came across the site “Acrylic Nails” with the mere mention to check it out, because apparently we have a lot more in common than our parents! The site is of photography, with the photographer/stylist as Walker Bunting (14), and hair/make-up by Syd Lynch (14). Located in Los Angeles, three other people are apart of their team: Jack Karaszewski (13), Zara Ferro (13), and Nora Mathison (14). With a passion for hinting at darkness in their project’s photos, and formulating a story that leaves one in wonder, they give way to an ultimate path of teenage expression which is beyond their years.
As the “about” on the site, Walter states: “Let’s defy what is expected in stereotypical teen fashion, so follow me at Acrylic Nails Photography to enjoy all the thought-provoking photos to come.” To browse through more photos, and keep track of any new updates, please visit their website.
