The Defiant is an international and bilingual magazine. Published in a calendar form, each season-less volume is revealed twice a year. Within this time period of six to twelve weeks, a “theme” resonates throughout daily articles and editorials. It is then combined with social interactivity in its simplest form, for ease of reader involvement.
The Defiant envelops innovation through a tangible aesthetic. All features are experimental, constructing a publication full of “Tests”. We promote what’s current, but we also embrace the past and future, as our content is timeless. Our audience, the ones who believe in quality over quantity, take time to invest in themselves while moving forward. A true “Defiant” is an individual, prone to innovation, young and old, woman or man.
Through an online platform, The Defiant does not want to be classified as another blogger or magazine. Editor-in-Chief & Creative Director, Bacall Michaels, claims: “We already have enough independent publications, but what we do not have are ones which make innovation and the avant garde relatable. With The Defiant, I hope to do so and inspire.”
